Like most unsigned recording artsists, I utilize a great many websites to promote my music and garner comments from people who are gracious enough to take the time to listen and respond. To those who listen, and to those who go that one extra step to provide feedback - I thank you. Here is a sampling of what people are saying about my music:
The Shroud
Great track KEv!! A superb production throughout.
The intro is very cool and builds nicely. The synth at 1:33 (and later on) is awesome... - Prevalence, Surrey, UK
Nice and ballsy track, kev. The bd does seem awefully big, but you have left plenty of space for it, so it works. And the analog string bit works very well for the break, adds a nice dimension to the genré.
looking forward to more. - AT, Texas, USA
Nice track, KEv! I know you're a Delerium/FLA fan, but are you familiar with any of Leeb/Fulber's other projects? This song reminds me of some of the Pro-Tech, Noise Unit, Equinox, and (esp.) Synaesthesia stuff.
Anyway, yeah the strings sound amazing and suit this track perfectly. Excellent melodies, nice breaks, and the production sounds great! I can't wait to hear more Avionik! - Cryophonik, Elk Grove, California, USA
Have to agree, suuperbly produced. Sounds very cinematic, could see this being played as the credits roll for some dark horror movie.
Loved the sounds you used. - Vassa
Good track. I like the strings at the break as well. - Trusty, North Little Rock, Arkansas, USA
So Controversial
Maybe it is repetitive, but as i've stated many times, that's not always a bad thing. Lot's of the IDM stuff i listen to is more repetitive than this track. This track is interesting enough to keep my attention due to the great combination of sounds you've used and their interactivity. - Blipp, UK
This is easily my favorite thing i've heard from you. that surround feel is incredible, and i love the wash of sound. i don't particular mind the fact that it's not going anywhere, but then i sorta dig music that establishes a place (as opposed to music that establishes a specific journey). i was interested throughout and there were a lot of little touches along the way to keep it fresh (like that latin piano thing; made me smile). it actually reminded me of soundclick's stalwart melodic avant-guardist richard dunlap, which is pretty high praise for me. - Gourdjopy
Ophelmakend
I'm not a big fan of classical guitar (or whatever this is), but I think this is a good, soothing track. The electronic background is very well done and the guitar definitely adds something different. Nice one, Kev. - Fac, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
This was nice. The guitar work was spare but effective in taking you on a little journey. I like the ambient soundbed, especially the high freq swishy thing which had a soothing feel to it. - Eric, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
This is really cool. i liked the guitar playing...really compliments the song. I always liked this kinda stuff. reminds me of Leonard Cohen for some reason.
great track. is this going on the next album? - :10:
This is a really interesting combination that really works. It's not often you hear an acoustic guitar over an industrial type backing. Production sounded first class. Very enjoyable indeed. - Blipp, UK
Cant fairly critique this, but this sounds amazing to me ...
Love his style meshed with yours... This guy is good isnt he!?!
Please let him know that we loved his work on this! Your pads are hauntingly presented and his string work is minimalistic enough (yet I like his chorused harmonic parts) that you don't lose focus of the "electronic" nature of this track. In other words, it seems to be the best of both artists here!
I'd love to hear more of this kind of collaboration. - Digital Aura, Petrolia, Ontario, Canada
Very laid back and his guitar sounds great! The two parts work great together. The guitar absent break adds some darkness to the piece that I found perfectly placed. Great song. - TheOrphan, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Marathon
A conventional kind of track , but given an interesting twist. i really liked the choice of sounds you used and the almost middle eastern melodic parts played with the violin sound. It became more interesting for me as it progressed and it will probably take another couple of listens before it finally clicks for me. The production was excellent and the mix was nice and open. Good work.
EDIT: Listened to it again and i like it a lot more. There are a lot of changes and i could'nt take them all in on the first listen. I do like the originality of this track. - Blipp, UK
Excellent production value, as always. You should write an article on how you do it. (And people should read it, including me.)
Very Kraftwork. Sort of European electronica chill. Nice. - Oroboros, Los Angeles, California
Guilty Voice Of The Silent Boyfriend
First of all i have to commend you on the production, Awesome. Sounds like a pro mastering job to my ears. To the song - Loved the kraftwerk influence with the vocals and the track. As triscuit says, great sounds. I'm not usually one for 4/4 beats, but in this track i liked them, probably cause they were slower than usual. I liked the way it progressed and my interest was kept throughout. Nice work kev. - Blipp, UK
As always, great production values. Was a tad repetative. But did sound quite professional. Not the lead song on an album, but worthy of being included. My 2¢. Ever thought about mixing/mastering? - Oroboros, Los Angeles, California, USA
Not my usual genre but sometimes when production and arrangement are very well done I get into it.
very well done.
love that crsip tambourine coming in - Wrench45US
Loved it. great stuff. - :10:
There was some nice tension running through this piece. sounds were great. gotta agree with blipp about the production - top rate. that big kick just rattled my head! - Ecamburn, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Whoa nice, slow tempo for a dance track, but nice use of synths, very clear mix, the intro is really nice, and the kick is very expected, and we get it! pretty loud compared to the rest. I agree on the kraftwerk influence ...
you have talent... great work. - Badbib, Lyon, France
I still can't believe that I can come here and click on a link and download such great (*insert explicative here*) music.
For FREE!! I'm sorry I can't be more helpful with my comments, primarily because I think your production is first rate.
This is "the ****" - MurderDethKill
Evolution 10
I really liked this. Very clear. I probably would have gone a little wilder, myself (like Gyorgy Ligeti's '2001' stuff, say), but that's no dig againt it.
Is there supposed to be ... static ... in the background? I'm not saying it's bad, it's just odd to hear it deliberately added into a track. Interesting effect, actually. - Oroboros, Los Angeles, California, USA
This was pretty cool. - Triscuit, Illinois, USA
Cool. Reminds me of something, can't quite put my finger on it. The talking in the background reminds me of Pink Floyd ;-) but overall.... it's something, I don't know, very familar but from a long time ago. Maybe bits of Atom Heart Mother mixed with the score from Blade Runner. Anyway, I like it. - Agincourtdb, Maryland, USA
Very nicely done Kev. Just love the dynamic range and quality of the mix even as a 128k stream. Felt like I was hearing every sound without having to focus on a particular instrument. - Lost Sheep, Scotland
Yes this is very nice Kev. I think i know someone else who will like it as well, you know who you are. Much better than the track that inspired this. This is the avant-garde, the one on the white album was avant-got-a -clue. Enjoyed. - Blipp, UK
FRIGGIN BRILLIANT!!
This is amazing!! I mean, I want to do something like this too!!! REALLY!
This has so much texture and brings REAL emotion to the experience. Spooky mostly....but this would really bring some suspense and tension to any movie that used it. Total soundtrack material.
There's probably a market for this kind of thing.
So back to your piece.... Kev this is new for you? How did you tackle this one? It's so hard to pull this off. Most would think its easier cuz you don't have to deal with drum programming or leads or chord structure...but that makes it TOUGHER. Listeners will be more scrutinous because the song is actually more exposed and vulnerable being more simplistic. I say simplistic but yet I hear nothing simple in its production. Great work. I'd like to do this, but I really don't know how to start. Its not like playing a patch and hearing a melody in your head that you can start elaborating on. That's how I work. But this takes creativity to a new level.
Kudos buddy! I love this! - Digital Aura, Petrolia, Ontario, Canada
Hey Kevin this is great!
Great sounds, textures, and tension.
I would have no idea how to pull this off!! - Fschmierer, Northern California, USA
I liked the vinyl crackles...adds to the errieness of the track. very cool. sounds really dark...and the bass hits...wow.
silent hill stuff...love it.... - :10:
Do you know who philip jeck is? he's a plunderphonic turntablist who does some work along these lines. the record scratches are great for giving the sampled vibe, and the sound of the grating metal mixed brilliantly with the lo fi strings; nice blend of plucking and bells as well to fill out the pallette. great use of space, timing, and pauses. like all soundscapes that i like, there is some good legitimate melodic material buried in here as well. i also like the way you restrained yourself from doing "weird noises" for the sake of weird noises. to my ears, at least, this sounds very balanced and careful in its development. - Jmeier
Kev.- this is effing great. Very unusual from you. - Fac, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
Parson's Liberty
Very clean ...
very classic -- kind of retro in one of those timeless ways.
vocals are a great fit.
piano break works for me at first and then sort of drifts and distracts.
sort of clean nostalgic sense -- really well done. - Wrench45US
Sounds - 8 /
Notes - 7.5 /
Mastering - 9 /
Vocals - 8.5.
Very nice mix. One of your best songs, IMO. Vocals are well done. - Oroboros, Los Angeles, California, USA
I'm pleased to agree that the vocals are first rate, lovely and clean and fit in fine. Love the retro electro feel throughout, esp the "drum machine". - Andy, Scotland
A very nicely constructed piece. It definitely had the feel that it was built by a steady hand. The vocals were nicely processed and mixed. - Ecamburn, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
This immediately reminded me of OMD and if your voice sounded just like Andy McClusky's i might have believed it was them. Loved the retro sample and hold keyboards and the retro minimilist percussion. Nice tune too. - Blipp, UK
Kev, those synths bite! And I mean that in a good way. It'd be nice to hear them sped up into a strong rhythm piece.
Very late '80s, and true to the genre, but it could also be true to today. - Pfunque, Quebec, Canada
The electronics have a lovely sort of Kraftwerk vibe to them, which I really like. The verse is fantastic, a lovely, dreamy, melancholy melody ... - Flake Cosmo
Necromancer
Love the opening dirty drum loop that carries through. The voclals come in good and strong, good distictive voice there, reminded me of someone else whom I can't quite put my finger on. - Andy, Scotland
I did like the synths that were being used ...very nice arrangement. I really like the lyrics too, you are very poetic. Seems pretty deep, I dont understand much of it, but I think they gel quite nicely. - Digital Aura, Petrolia, Ontario, Canada
The vocals at first took some getting used to. But as the song wore on, I got drawn in more and more. It think what drew me in is that the song reminded me of one of my favorite unknown bands "it bites". Your voice sounds a lot like the lead singer of that band and your melodies remind me of them. As the song wore on, I started to feel a lot more emotion from the chorus. The subsonic kick was very cool sounding. I also like the creepy vibe created by the organ-like pad. - Eric, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Dilemma
Cools stuff! I like the middle eastern influence. - Mike, Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA
I really like the deep piano parts. Intresting mix......you have a really unique style. Gets a thumbs up from me. - :10:
Yeh this is very, very good. I loved the percussion and the arrangement. I detected a subtle middle eastern flavour to the song which i liked. Top stuff. Gets the thumbs up from me too. - Blipp
Nicely executed. Like the way it layers up as it moves along and introduces new elements steps up and builds and settles back. - Wrench45us
Fall. Ice. Death.
Pretty good song. Good beats and variation to keep it moving and hypnotic without being trancy. OK, what else to say? Mix was good, song always remained calm laid back. If it was mine I might bring some kind of climax towards the end before it settles back down. But it is charming as it is. Nice work. - Bazza McKenzie, Los Angeles, California, USA
Nice tune, calming. I use that speech synthesizer alot too cool FX. - Jake Noma
I like the minimalistic instrumentation, in fact I like the minimalism of the entire track ("...Batina and Max are coming, sweetie darling. She's the Queen of Minimalism..."). The dark, modified vocal stands in sharp contrast to the happy flute sound and the ARP textures. It almost has an early 80's feel to it, especially the riff around 2:00, and again at around 3:00. And the "driving" beat has an almost Pet Shop Boys feel to it (one of most-est favorite artists) ... the modified spoken-word vocal reminds me of some early Rush (also one of my fav. acts, BTW). Think maybe "The Necromancer" from Caress Of Steel. Is this a Canadian thing or something? Keep it coming, - Brad Karrfalt, Hollywood
It's very strange....thats why I like it. Nothing like a good voice synth to wake you up in the morning ... I would ask you whats so good about your life to make such upbeat tracks? Is Canada such a good place to live? I know drugs are cheap! Free health insurance!! Lots of hockey...... - Tristan Hansen
Very unusual melody and that's what kept me interested. Glad i did cause i really loved it when the percussion came in, magic. I'm not big on voices and voice samples in electronica tracks, but i did'nt mind it in this track, seemed to fit well with the music. When the beats first came in, for some strange reason it made me think of the german band "CAN", can't think why, might have been the chugging feel of the beat. Nice one. - Blip, Birmingham, UK
This reminds me of a few radio experimental radio shows over the years that had spoken word (always the rich baritone) over a musical bed. This is quirky and uplifting. Nice work. - Jan Freier, USA
THIS SONG COMPLETELY ROCKS!! I can't really hear the vocals too well, but Im completely obsessed with vocoders at this point. I have just bought two... never heard of the AT&T one...I love the way this kicks off at 1:50... well done!! Sounds mechanical...but not techno-ey... sounds structured...but not wooden. SOUNDS GREAT, Kev! - Greg Primmer, Petrolia, Ontario, Canada
I like it - it's fun. The opening bars made me think of Vince Clarke for some reason (arpeggiating monosynth, I guess, but there must be more to it than that). Anyway, I'm pretty much in agreement with the others about the impact that the drums make when they arrive - very nice. Well balanced mix, liked the voice synthesizer. - Ben Southall, Anytown, Florida, USA
Navajo
New review! The song structure is very good . Ii like it. Sounds like kraftwerk meets cybotron for a slow jam. - DJ Ryder, Stockton, California, USA
Beautiful. Really nicely produced, the melodic elements are very good. The build is fantastic. Such a nice progression through the piece keeps the listener's attention absolute. Great use of effects, very tastefully done. A masterful job, what more can I say. I really enjoy this piece. - Ed Drury, Portland, Oregon, USA
Good Job "L". Nice timbre on the intro synth, Love that ADSR setting, and it moves nicely into the panting drums with chants...the swirl falls standout againist the repeating melody line here, resulting in a great effect...I love the sublte percussion that you use sparingly, it makes the song flow but you don't notice it's there unless you're really listening...Great ambience... - Austn, Seattle, Washington, USA
"Modern and old come together! Very nice blending of modern with the old cultures of music beats. I could really sense modern dance with traditionial dance in some form of a play being down with this piece. Production is excellent with a original modern concept to it. I really enjoyed this and reccomend others to take a listen." - Earthsongs

New review! "I found it difficult to establish what this song was about...Was it "dark" ? - the bass line sounded like it was headed to a darker energy, (and I did really like it) but the pad/synthy sweeps gave it a lighter floaty feel as did the melody which was almost sing-song like, but more playful than haunting... The lyric also seemed on the darker side but somehow with all the different elements combined, it didn't quite come together for me. Your vocals are very good, perhaps a "wetter" feel especially for this track would give it extra texture and atmosphere?" - Tracy Lundgren, Australia
"Nice track, i enjoyed it. It reminded me a lot of Thomas Dolby, especialy your voice. Your voice sounds very british (and i should know ), are you an ex pat? I thought the arrangement and production were excellent and i could'nt fault them. Great work." - Blipp, Birmingham, UK
"Yeah, nice production. I liked the strings part a lot... they were so... unexpected. :)" - Fac, Guanajuato, Mexico
"... great tune, and does sound like Dolby." - Phil Chetcuti, London, Ontario, Canada
"i always like itwhen one part gets established and another comes in and changes the accent to alter perception of the original ... all in all took me back to a simpler more pleasant time" - WJan Freier (Wrench45us) , USA
" very nice track. love the strings......" - :10:, Ray, Michigan, USA
"You have a great voice...I dont know who this Dolby guy is...but I was instantly teleported to glam rock and 80's pop... your voice is very "Flock Of Seagulls" IMO. I, for one, really like your vocal style... they work for this genre ....let me say that I loved this song as a whole and I could spend 20 minutes saying what I loved about it besides your vox.... this song has such merit and validity and WORTH that I wanted to share that with ya Kev! Its great...I wish more people would attempt these vocal undertakings!" - Gregory Allan Primmer (Digital Aura), Petrolia, Ontario, Canada
"I actually like the way the different voices mix together. Your voice has a distintinctive sound which is pleasant to listen to. At points the tune had a Peter Gabriel vibe which for me is a good thing ... I like the glubby bass thing that begins the song and that repeats throughout." - Eric Camburn, Madison, Wisconsin, USA
Angels (It's Their Last Show)
"I kinda had to adjust my mood to fully appreciate it. I liked the vocals in the strong part ..." - Marco, Pittsville, Maryland, USA
" Nice job, Electroniqa. I don't really miss the bass there as the percussion has a really nice low end." - Martin Schiff, Maitland, Florida, USA
" I played this one several times.
"Great song, sounds a bit like Midge Ure at times - in fact I could quite easily imagine Ultravox putting this out ... the simplicity works well for it ... you've got some nice subsonics on the percussion." - Paul Russel, Singapore
"Cool song. I'm not heavily into electronic music, but I really liked this ... the vocals could have been mixed louder, because they really sound good... I wanted to hear them better. Reminds me of a relatively unknown guy, Jeff Johnson. Good work!" - Mike Lockette, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
"Nice mood. I like the drums, single string line with the vocal ... the simplicity of the verses is very refreshing. I also like the way you used suspensions in the chorus. I also think the way you used your voice on this tune is terrific. I can't wait to hear some more of your stuff." - Grandpa Tunes, Idaho, USA
"In my previous post I gave you my initial impression of “Angels.” I like to do that, listen to a new piece and then make a note of my first impression. I have since listened to “Angels” about 40 times. It is really a wonderful piece of work! I played it for my wife. She liked the piece and she really likes your voice ...It is truly a wonderful piece artistically and technically!" - Grandpa Tunes, Idaho, USA
" I really liked it. Pretty far removed from what I usually listen to! Nice laid-back feel, loved the sparse verses, your voice sounds right for the song, both on the verses and the chorus. The deep sub-bass on the percussion sounds great..." - AB, Glasgow, Scotland
" I like it! ...and your voice sounds perfectly fine BTW. I like the tone when you go up in your range!" - Steve C., Coatesville, Pennsylvania, USA
" What I like -- the construction of the tune... the lyrics... What I REALLY like -- your vox on the chorus. (In the "hell yeah" kind of way!!)" - Ona Meyer, USA
"This feels like a deeply personal song. Whether one likes the music or not, I think if you listen, you can feel the emotion. Personally, I like this song very much, and can only say thank you for letting us have a peak at your heart.." - Randy, Dublin, California, USA
Sugar Tax
" I quite like the cover - not bad at all!!!" - Helrose
"Thats a brilliant cover Kevin....well done.Love the drum sequence , great programming and very ,very ambient and atmospheric. Brilliant" - Gareth M Scott

All new reviews! This is a definite club track. Ii will download this one high energy. Ii would add some effects to the vocals, delay and run through a sampler and sequence and it would be tight. - DJ Ryder, Stockton, California, USA
